Interview Question 10 with Dr. Thomas Rossby
10. What continues to inspire you about your work?
Question 10 transcript:
"I mean the quick answer is very simple, its fun. I love working with the people around me. Everybody in the lab has pretty fantastic skills of different kinds. Jim Fontaine, George Schwartze. Sandy Fontana, Mark Prater, Davey Hebert- all great, unique talents and skills to the things we're involved with. The students are equally crucial. I haven't said anything about the students, but we are after all an academic institution and working with the students. Ok, once in a while that can be a bit frustrating, but most of the time it's actually quite a lot of fun. Especially those who are keen on the give and take of the science and most of them really are. That helps motivate. You don't think about it as motivation, you just realize that's part of the total package of enjoying what your doing. It's an enormous privilege to be in this kind of position, working with people like this."
